Ye Olde Sidetrippe to Jerusalem

Lucy Roberts, our Middle East and Africa correspondent, has sent this picture, with the following message:

'I thought you might like this, though I don't think it is for coal, from the Old City of Jerusalem near New Gate in the City Wall. I walk across it each day to work and back, and wonder whose hand is imprinted on it. I think it might be Jesus's'.

Thanks Lucy - I'm always keen to see how inspection covers are decorated in foreign climes and it is not beyond the bounds of possibility that there are British inspection covers, given our colonial history. Keep your eyes to the ground.
